As a Master thesis student I conducted an exploratory case study conducted at Volvo IT to understand feasibility of using speech recognition technologies for technical support at Volvo
aftermarket.
I was responsible for conducting interviews, observations and performing qualitative analysis to
identify the constraints/problems in speech recognition area. It included researching state of the speech recognitions technologies and assess the business needs and propose an optimal solution
adapted towards a noisy environment. Based on the research data I had developed prototype
"FreeSpeech" which was developed on Android mobile platform and was based on the client-server
architecture. The application was connected with Google speech servers for processing speech data and getting text results.
