In brief Daniel is a senior consultant with more than twelve years of experience in the field of server and application infrastructure. He specializes in designing and building global, highly scalable and optimized platforms, often using cloud technologies. Supporting the design of a new cloud based infrastructure platform
Sony Europe - Architect & Technical lead
Responsible for the design and implementation of a brand new platform for Sony's world wide developer community including the merge of various old sites and developer tools into one new global portal (developer.sony.com). The platform was designed as a micro services architecture with high scalability and security in mind and makes heavy use of numerous Amazon AWS services with focus on Docker clusters using ECS.
Nordisk Undertext - System Architect
Included design and implementation of a new application platform running fully on Amazon AWS. Work included design of a scalable and secure infrastructure as well as a full tool chain
or continuous application deployment. AWS technologies included DynamoDB, CloudFormation, IAM, EC2, and ECS (Docker).
Rich Relevance - System Architect & Operations Engineer
This assignment was a mix of recurring platform development and 24/7 operations. The hugely time critical platform was mainly run on Amazon AWS with additional tools developed
in-house on top of AWS. Operations included weekly and daily maintenance tasks as well as stand-by work to solve critical issues.
Sony - System Architect & Technical Lead
During this assignment, Daniel was part of two projects, acting as system architect and tech lead. Both projects involved building large scale web platforms to be deployed worldwide with great focus on scalability and automatic provisioning. The platforms were subject to daily software deployments which required a robust and automatic deploy process in tight co-operation with various development teams. The areas of work involved overall design, implementation of automatic deployments, git integration, CDN caching, platform scaling, software optimization and monitoring. Tools used includes Linux, git, Jenkins, Nginx, Apache, Java, PHP and ASP.NET. Google Cloud and Amazon AWS were used as cloud services.

A self-owned company, the consultant worked with a variety of customers including Sony Mobile and Lund University as well as running a number of in-house projects. The work was mainly focused on infrastructure but also included software development.
Projects:
Sony - Cloud Platform Design & Implementation
This project based assignment involved moving a large web software platform from in house hosting to a brand new cloud based infrastructure. Daniel was responsible for the entire design of the new platform involving a highly scalable server, database and storage setup with worldwide CDN caching coverage. The platform also included a new automated software
deployment process and a detailed monitoring environment.
Additionally, Daniel was responsible for the training of the day-to-day operations team. The cloud service of choice for this project was Amazon AWS, including RDS, CloudFormation, IAM, EC2, S3, ElastiCache and CloudWatch. Tools used included Linux, Nginx, Memcached,
MySQL, Bash, Python and various open source monitoring tools.
Sony Mobile - Linux/Unix Operations Specialist
Daniel was part of the internal Linux/UNIX team at Sony Mobile working with a very wide range of tasks and projects such as:
● Setup, configuration and monitoring of Linux servers running Ubuntu and SUSE
● Setup and configuration of Linux development clients running a customized Ubuntu OS with LDAP/AD integration and distributed file systems
● Design and tech lead roles for various in-house projects
● Cluster setups and storage provisioning
● Deployment of numerous software products including Oracle, MySQL, Nginx, LAMP stacks, Nagios, Android tools, WordPress, MediaWiki, Memcahed etc
● Documentation of systems and processes
● Setup of cloud based solutions on Amazon AWS and Google
● Daily operations and general maintenance of most Linux related systems
Sony Ericsson - Infrastructure Architect
In this roll, Daniel was part of several big projects, mostly focused on consumer web services. The work focused on design and implementation of the back-end infrastructure of public services like PlayNow (a world-wide music service) and TrackID (a music identification service) involving server setup and configuration, scalability, storage, globalization, caching,
monitoring and continuous integration. Services and tools used included Linux, Java, Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Oracle, Akamai and several open source products for scripting and monitoring.

Ericsson - UNIX Technician, Mechanical Design
As part of the Mechanical Design department at Ericsson in Lund the consultant was responsible for the servers, workstations and software tools used. This included setup and management of HP-UX workstations, setup of Linux servers and responsibility for the development tool chain within the department.
