Rune is a senior infrastructure specialist with focus on architecture, security, consolidation,
integration and performance optimization across major technologies.
With over 20 years of experience Rune has wide reach across technology verticals. The
primary skills are centered around core infrastructure technologies such as Microsoft Active
Directory, Microsoft Exchange, VMware ESXi, Citrix NetScaler, Citrix XenApp, EMC Storage,
Cisco Unified Computing System, ASA, IOS and other related products.

• Capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning.
• Automate and reduce use of manual efforts through scripting and tools.
• Design, deploy and implement new data center and cloud environments built for
multitenancy. Procurement of hardware components and liaison with 3rd parties.
• Migrate, consolidate and/or upgrade business critical applications/systems to the
cloud or data center. Review architecture and security design and provide
guidance for improvement where applicable.
Rune prefers to work in demanding and challenging environments solving the customer's
problems. Responsibility is readily accepted he has good leader skills. Rune is increasingly
focusing on remote work and has a proven track record of nearly a decade working largely
remote.
For the past five or so years Rune has spent significant time on hardening infrastructure
environments and designing solutions with cybersecurity being key to their successful

Project description:


Siemens Gamesa is experiencing performance issues on their Horizon View 7 platform
supporting up to 4000 users.
RT is tasked with identifying performance bottlenecks and remediating these to improve end
user experience.
The troubleshooting is on all layers; storage, virtualization, hyper-visors, network and software infrastructure components as they all play vital roles and must be configured
properly.
RT is interim SPOC for the entire VDI infrastructure during this period.
The work is carried out remotely after a brief period on-site.

Project description:


Maersk Tankers A/S, previously a part of A.P. Moller Maersk A/S, the biggest shipping
company in the world is separating its business units into separate legal entities and RT was
hired as an Active Directory analyst to help establish the impact of moving their IT platform
away from the group. The project is diverse and RT also functions as the SME on several
smaller projects such as moving all IT related infrastructure from a recently closed office in
Sweden to Denmark, gathering information about applications placed in different parts of the world in order to relocate them to Denmark where Maersk Tankers A/S new datacentre
has been set up.
With the future business unit autonomy design RT is also playing an important role in the
design of the new Active Directory, Citrix platform, Horizon View platform, DMZ design and executing the moves into the new IT infrastructure.
Daily tasks included operational support and monitoring of "myVDI" the core desktop
platform (linked clones, dedicated pools and instant clones) based on Horizon View 5x and later upgrade to 6x. Management of user profiles/data and applications.
Management of underlying hardware; Cisco UCS, EMC XtremIO and VNX storage systems.
Physical installation and configuration of Dell servers/storage systems to provide a platform for the ShipNet platform.
Approximately 90% of the work is done remotely.

NRGi, a Danish energy company has bought up a number of smaller companies and is in the process of consolidating all Active Directory, Exchange and application servers in a single
forest. RT is the design and migration architect and has designed, tested and documented the migration process for about 2000 users, computers, email accounts and servers and is
assisting as necessary as NRGi's own IT staff is using the written documentation to migrate and consolidate users from a number of smaller companies into a single Active Directory
forest.

Project description:


One of IBM's largest customers in Denmark was upgrading and migrating to a new Windows
2008 platform. The tasks required in this project span across system analysis of current
setup, solution design for future setup, system documentation and communication with system owners in both Denmark, Germany, England and Poland.
Most systems were to be virtualized and upgraded and sometimes consolidated from
Windows 2003 to 2008 and the primary task was to identify and document the solution to doing so. Working with many peers across multiple organizations in different countries was
necessary to achieve success in this project.
Approximately 80% of the work is done remotely.

Hosted environment using Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2007 for different clients. Design and implementation of hot disaster recovery site for a large law firm.

Over four weeks RT has designed and deployed a new infrastructure solution for 200+ users
across 8 locations.
The entire platform is based on VM Ware vSphere4, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2,

RT also implemented Microsoft IntelliMirror across DFS in order to meet the roaming
requirements for the users.

Fast paced troubleshooting in a modern complex environment is the keyword here.

Project description:


With focus on Citrix troubleshooting on a large scale across four farms ranging from Metaframe XP to PS4.5 RT's responsibilities included regular troubleshooting, publishing
applications, migrating users, printers and applications to a new farm.


RT also assisted in packaging a number of legacy/custom applications into .MSI format using
Wise Package Studio.


In large parts the problems related to the Citrix farms were complex due to the number of Group Policies linked to the different domains and troubleshooting included folder
redirection, roaming profiles, GPO's linked across domains, custom AD extensions, custom
AD attributes, VB scripts, Kix scripts and Batch scripts.


RT also handled a significant amount of 3rd level incidents submitted via Remedy (ITIL based Helpdesk software).

As Incident Handler RT's key responsibilities included 3rd level support, handling incidents for major customers like PFA Pension, Vejdirektoratet, Banedanmark, Novo Zymes,
Industriens Pension and others.


Most incident handling involves troubleshooting Active Directory, DNS, Exchange, a wide
range of 3rd party programs and the general IT infrastructure of the customers.

As Problem Handler key responsibilities include solving incidents that have turned into
problems, often creating a work around while troubleshooting the root cause and if
necessary submit and carry out a Request for Change in order to rectify the problem.
