The Role

Your role will be to help create a new Infrastructure operating model from scratch, communicate and negotiate with various outsourced partners, while designing and implementing infrastructure solutions that would ultimately ensure the smooth transition to operations.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for designing and implementing the infrastructure solutions including standardization and modernization of legacy environments.
  • Take the lead in providing key recommendations and solutions to build a modern Infrastructure, including but not limited to:
    • AD Implementation.
    • Server & network build.
    • Backup & Data recovery.
    • Upgrading and migrating of end user devices.
    • Public cloud build/migration (Azure).
    • O365, Intune, and SharePoint migration.
    • Ticketing system and build of support structure (Service Now).
    • Maximo Asset Management implementation.
  • Act as an evangelist for the standardization and simplification of IT infrastructure, through consolidation, simplification, and the synthesis of underlying business needs.
  • Evaluate new and emerging technologies, services, tools, and vendors for innovative new capabilities to guide business and technology decisions.
  • Document the current state of business & technical projects.
  • Participate in change control and change release processes to ensure capability improvement and good user experience.
  • Facilitate and lead the evaluation and selection of technology product standards, as well as the design of standard technology configurations.
  • Reviewing proposals to enhance or modify the configuration or functionality of firewalls, servers, applications, databases, and other critical elements of the infrastructure.

Your Profile

This highly technical (hands-on) position requires a skilled and experienced Infrastructure Architect or Senior Systems Engineer with a track record of delivering complex business technology solutions. The successful candidate will use their strong infrastructure knowledge across a wide variety of technologies combined with excellent customer service skills to engage with business stakeholders, understand and elicit business requirements, and translate these requirements into technical design and architecture.

Essential Skills:

  • Hands on experience with the design, build and migration of Public Cloud (Azure), Server, AD, Storage and Databases.
  • Ability to assess the logical setup of AS-IS environment and create a transformation roadmap.
  • Experience across IBM Maximo (Asset Management) would be highly regarded.
  • Superior IT Infrastructure knowledge and experience across a wide variety of technologies (i.e. Windows / Cloud / Networking & Security / Backup /Virtualization platforms etc.)
  • Strong demonstrated experience working as an Infrastructure Solution Architect within large, complex (greenfield) IT environments.
  • Experience in product evaluation, gap-fit analysis, design, delivery, and support.
  • A good understanding of capabilities and tools in the marketplace that could fulfill business goals and provide strategic benefits in a cost-effective manner
  • SME with broad technical knowledge, in architecture and designing infrastructure solutions involving compute, storage, and networking components including considerations such as cloud, cyber security, resilience and disaster recovery.
  • Understanding of latest cloud computing and data technologies, business drivers, emerging computing trends, and deployment options.
  • Enthusiastic professional and confident team player with a strong customer-success focus, who can present solutions effectively.
  • Previous Cloud (Azure) implementation experience would be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, decision making skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience of delivering to strict target dates and/or service levels.
  • A proven track record in stakeholder management at all levels in the organisation including Executive and senior staff, within both IT and the business, project delivery and support staff, 3rd party vendors and controller functions within the organisation.
