SAP S/4 HANA Project Manager – (Remote)

For an international client world leader in its sector (food manufacturer) and based in more than 50 countries around the globe, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager with more than 5 years of experience and knowledge in SAP implementations for a very challenging endeavor. The client has been using SAP ECC and wants to move to SAP S/4 HANA. The client is built-up of 4 different companies, and half of them are already using SAP S/4 HANA.
The client already hired a big corporation (their partner) to make the implementation in four different countries in Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, and Greece) and there is where the candidate comes into play. This big corporation already has its own PM, but the client wants to have one of their own to "audit" the work this partner is doing and coordinate the key users of the client´s activity during the implementation.
The project starts in April 2023 and the go-live is set in Jan 2024 (the end of the project will be at the end of February 2024). The idea is for the candidate to act on behalf of the client throughout the duration of the implementation. The PM will coordinate the business-related part, as well as meet with the integrators on behalf of the client. The PM will not manage the consultants provided by their partner but will coordinate the tasks of the internal team of the client.
It will be nice (though not a necessity) to have logistic-related experience and there is no need to provide any specific certification. The work methodology will be set by implementers. The candidate will have to coordinate the activity of 25-30 key users, all part of the company with some previous notions of SAP but not experts by any means. They will also have contact with the IT team.
The idea prior to starting the project is that we have a video call with the candidate, just a chat to know each other and explain the collaboration model. Then once the client has their profile on the table, the client will want to know the candidate and ask him/her the typical type of questions regarding past experience and projects. Maybe some more technical questions. It would consist of 2 rounds of interviews, the first one with the Regional IT projects coordinator, and the second one would be with the SAP programming director.
Tasks to be performed:
- Travel to various project locations like France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, and Greece. The client will cover the travel costs.
- Participate in the project meetings with their partner (the implementers).
- Participate in the workshops imparted by the partner to assure quality.
- Coordinating key users' activity on the client side.
- Ensure the quality of the project.
- Identify the potential risks of the project and provide some other form of reporting besides what the partner implementers provide to them.
- Also, analyze and comment on the reporting provided by the partner.
Location: Remote + visits to different offices in Europe (60/40)
Full or part-time: Part-time (around 30 hours a week. If possible 4 days a week full-time)
Approx. start date: 03.04.2023.
Estimated duration: 10 months
Language: English. German will be a plus.
