Summary
Christian has extensive experience in Agile IT management and has been responsible for introducing SAFe and other Agile methods in several organizations. It enables him to build, train, and coach teams, collaborate, and coordinate with different agile roles to deliver value and ensure team cohesion.
A broad experience across project, agile, and personnel management enables him to navigate the surrounding organization when a team needs to remove obstacles or create a clear framework. As an executive-level leader, he has often worked on strategic procedures, the roll-out of strategies and change processes, including organizational adaptation and structuring.
Christian is an adept agile event management specialist and can run major agile events, scaling from Sprint Planning or estimation workshops to large-scale PI Planning events and hackathons, both physically, virtually and hybrid.
He is an experienced trainer/instructor and has trained team members and managers in Agile Scrum, SAFe, Dev Ops Foundation, Agile Product Management, and leadership topics such as technical debt or agile team formation, virtually and on-site. He is also an accredited DevOps Foundation trainer. Christian is a power user and implementation expert in several industry-wide processes, project management and collaboration systems, such as Atlassian JIRA/Confluence and MIRO.
Professional Experience
2022-01 - 2023-05
As an RTE, Christian has ensured consistent planning and value delivery, helping the product development organization of 70 stakeholders and developers reach its annual turnover target while guaranteeing a more agile approach to leadership and development.
He transformed the MitID project organization into an Agile Release Train using the Enterprise Agile framework SAFe and strengthening the methods used by the Scrum teams.
In addition, Christian has also been responsible for training and coaching teams, Product Owners and Scrum Masters, management, and clients in agile practices. This was central to helping stabilize an exhausted and challenged delivery organization.
MitID, Denmark's digital multiplatform identity solution, is critical to the national digital infrastructure.
The project went from delivering on a tender to becoming an agile product organization during operational challenges, public attention, and political pressure.
Among Christian's responsibilities were:
- Implementing, hosting and managing quarterly PI Planning events
- Establishing and managing a SAFe-compatible meeting structure and communication
- Managing teams and stakeholders to ensure specifications were Ready for Planning
- Coaching the teams towards a clear Definition of Done, Definition of Ready and other agile fundamentals
- Cross-team alignment of estimation methods, specifications, planning approach and process terminology
- Planning and managing a hackathon event
- Quarterly pre-PI Planning training for newcomers, on-site as well as recorded training videos
- Managing and implementing digital tooling with JIRA, Confluence, MIRO and SharePoint Danish Development and Simplification Agency (UFST), Ministry of Taxation
2021-02 - 2021-10
At UFST, Christian, across teams in the project Dataplatform under the EUTK Program, has had the role of RTE and ensured value, deliveries and cohesion through his management efforts. In addition, Christian has also been responsible for managing, facilitating and coaching Teams and Scrum Masters, and Management as well as developing the Data Platform's Agile Release Train (ART) as a delivery organization.
The project used technologies such as data lakes, data marts, infrastructure as code, complex data integration pipelines etc., to create a shared data repository and consumption platform for public agencies.
Christian has been responsible for solving the following tasks:
- Become a driving part of the management team of the Data Platform from day one. Participate in joint problem-solving together with Senior Project Manager (SPL), Product Manager (PM), and System Architect (SA).
- Implementing, hosting and managing quarterly PI Planning events
- Optimizing deliveries and flow and measuring progress
- Facilitation of ART events and processes in management
- Responsible for clear communication within management. Including the handling of kanban at management meetings.
- Managing risks in the project in collaboration with SPL
- Responsible for continuous improvements to the agile maturity of the project, including: a) Technical debt process b) Review of Definition of Done and Definition of Ready for Scrum Teams c) Application of DevOps methods d) Better Planning Features and Enablers e) Improving testing methods
- Economics of the project and follow-up (together with SPL)
- Dependency management, progress reporting to UFST
- Facilitate event management and help teams deliver value
- Summarize PI Objectives from teams, transfer them to Program PI Objectives, and make them visible and transparent in collaboration with PM.
- Use metrics to measure progress and deliveries of features and capabilities
2019-05 - 2021-02
At Karnov, Christian has been heading the organization's Agile Product Delivery department in Denmark and Sweden, including Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Lead designers. The role included recruiting and training agile specialists. In addition, he has acted as RTE for 50 developers in 5 agile teams.
Christian has been responsible for implementing SAFe across the organization in Denmark and Sweden.
As RTE, he has planned and facilitated SAFe and Scrum events and advised and coached teams and management in Lean-Agile mindset and DevOps. The role has also included:
- Planning and running quarterly planning events (PI) - both physical and virtual
- Establishing feature backlog at the application level
- Linking the PI process to the portfolio level
- Coaching and stakeholder involvement
- ART sync, Scrum-of-Scrums facilitation, and management of risks and dependencies across teams
- Continuous communication and reporting to the business and top management
- Training teams and management in general agile methods, Scrum and DevOps Foundation He has carried out ad hoc management of high-risk projects and has acted as Business Owner for digital process tools.

At DSB, Christian has been an Agile Excellence consultant working with implementing SAFe in the organization. He has done this by helping to establish the first Release Train in DSB, the PI Planning cycle, and a Lean-Agile Center of Excellence (LACE).
He coached and trained the employees (Scrum Masters, Product Owners, RTEs and others) in agile methods, including SAFe, Scrum, and DevOps Foundation. He also performed reviews and analyses of DSB's agile organization.
At DSB, Christian was also responsible for advising on the strategic implementation of agile methods and communication to the projects.
2016-05 - 2018-04
Christian was tasked with implementing digital process systems such as JIRA and Confluence, leading the launch and migration of IT platforms and products, leading strategic projects, and defining and maintaining information about the organization's security policy and training.
Training included two major courses for all developers, agile roles and stakeholders: Scrum Master PSM 1 preparation and Product Owner PSPO 1 preparation.
2015-10 - 2016-05
Christian collaborated closely with the project participants, who helped each other and took shared responsibility for visibility around the project's work, ensuring that deliveries were complied with according to the individual iterations.
The role also included basic Scrum training for developers and stakeholders.

He managed several internal projects in the Agency in the 2007-2013 financial year. Christian has also been responsible for coaching and training in the Scrum method and managing the digitization of The Danish State's IT project model business case with Scrum.
