Field Technician - Lombard, IL

Responsibilities:

• Performs on-site compliance inspection, quality assurance and progress monitoring at various construction projects for conformance to specifications and codes.
• Documents that construction is completed in accordance with contract plans and specifications - Coordinates required materials testing.
• Represents client on-site providing quality assurance and documentation related services.
• Performs final inspection, prepares punch lists, and determines all items on the punch list are completed or corrected by the contractor.
• Maintains and reviews comprehensive project records including daily diaries, documentation of construction workforce, equipment, and materials records, inspection reports, project photos and as-built plans.
• Tracks submittals and requests for information. Maintains project correspondence. - Participates in Progress and Preconstruction Meetings, as needed.
• Completes daily report referencing quality control issues for the project.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Valid Driver's license required
• Capable understanding of construction inspection services, including documentation preparation and control
• Experience with quality assurance and quality control techniques.

Skills:

• Ability to carry 40 pounds (testing equipment).
• Ability to utilize computer systems for documentation and data management equipment
• Ability to read and interpret plans and contract specifications
• Ability to communicate inspection items effectively and responsibly (verbally and in writing) with internal and external customers (i.e., contractors, owners, sub consultants, designers, architects and fellow team members).
• Ability to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions, periodic weekend and night work may be required
• Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain
