Role Overview:
Our organization is seeking a proficient IT Software Asset Management Specialist to enhance our Software Asset Management (SAM) division. The role focuses on overseeing and optimizing our software assets across the company and for our clients. This encompasses managing financial aspects, contractual agreements, and inventory of software to assist in strategic planning and execution within the IT landscape. The role aims at minimizing IT expenditures while mitigating the risks related to software compliance and usage.

Primary Responsibilities:
The responsibilities assigned to this role are dynamic and will evolve in alignment with the organization's needs. Current key tasks include:

Conducting thorough reviews of software licenses and agreements.
Liaising with various stakeholders such as IT departments, procurement, legal teams, security personnel, external partners, and software vendors to ensure a cohesive software asset management strategy.
Analyzing software vendor offers to devise customized solutions that enhance the value and efficiency of software assets for the company and its clients.
Overseeing the entire lifecycle of software assets, from acquisition through retirement, ensuring effective management and optimization.
Managing and optimizing the operation of SAM tools, with a preference for candidates familiar with tools like OpenIT and OpenLM.
Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of software asset data, initiating corrective measures when discrepancies are identified.
Leveraging license server management experience to maintain and optimize software licensing models.
Enhancing asset metering processes to support data-driven decisions and improve software asset utilization.

Required Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in Software Asset Management.
Familiarity with SAM tools such as OpenIT, OpenLM, Flexera, Snow, or similar platforms.
A pragmatic, precise, analytical, and methodical approach to tasks.
Strong background in data analytics and proficiency in tools like PowerBI.
Previous experience in managing license servers.
Solid understanding and experience with standard IT infrastructure and services, including SCCM, Intune, Active Directory, and others.
