The Geological Survey of Sweden - SGU - is the expert agency for issues relating to bedrock,
soil and groundwater in Sweden. SGU currently has some 250 employees and an annual
turnover is around SEK 340 million. Airen was a member of the SCRUM team in the development and implementation of SGUs e-archiving system. The assignment included
development of a custom-made web portal handling XML metadata and automated ingest
via REST API with validation of packages for archiving.

During 2017 the Swedish authority The Swedish Exhibition Agency was discontinued and ArkivIT was consulted to aid in the process of archiving all the authority records. Archiving
included several tens of thousands of digital image, movie and audio files. Airen is in charge of developing scripts for extracting metadata out of the files for delivery to the National
Archives.

frameworks for 3D Electron Microscopy. Scipion integrates several software packages,
including Xmipp, in a unified environment. It allows you to execute workflows combining
different software tools, while taking care of formats and conversions. Some of the interfaces for image visualization, processing and analysis, were developed in Java, using
Swing and ImageJ, which is a scientific image processing library. Other interfaces for Scipion
web, were developed using the Django framework and Javascript libraries. To provide
functions from the business model to the interface some extensions of the Scipion API were
built in Python and C++ (image algorithms).

Development of FluoJ, an image processing application that automatically detect cells and measure their features. Cells can be differentiated using a bayesian classifier after some
rounds of manual training. The algorithm used by the application to classify cells was her
master's thesis. FluoJ was developed in Java as an ImageJ plugin with Hibernate for data
management.
