Project Role: Configuration Manager in the EUTK program, delivering new IT systems for Toldstyrelsen to implement the European Union Customs Code 

Key Responsibilities: 

• • Coordinate the system configuration and environment integration of major IT systems implemented as part of the EUTK program, working with architecture and IT suppliers 
• • Drive the introduction of multiple parallel integration testing environments, to enable simultaneous development and integration testing of multiple program releases and speed up program deliveries 
• • Participate in the change governance process, responsible for software versions, system configuration and coordination of system deployments 
• • Produce a system versioning and release strategy that supports development of multiple program releases in parallel, in relation to code branching, merging and deployment

Maersk online booking platforms 

Architect responsible for the booking functionality across all Maersk web and mobile platforms. Driving a major migration to a globally distributed, cloud-native model to improve platform reliability and performance, while still delivering necessary enhancements to the booking capability.

Key responsibilities: 

• • Design standardized, reusable, secure APIs using domain driven design principles to support the web and mobile booking functionality - migrating away from a monolith model
• • Design the physical and logical data models for microservices, and design ETL pipeline (Informatica) for data synchronization between the on-premise DB (Oracle) and globally distributed database instances
• • Assist technical teams during the implementation and deployment of cloud microservices running in a containerized environment (Docker/Kubernetes)
• • Maintain and improve the development and delivery pipeline for the platform - code quality standards, continuous integration and deployment, automated/BDD testing
• • Propose and drive implementation of improvements to the technology stack - using NoSQL technologies at the data layer (Apache Cassandra), leveraging a CDN for caching and static content hosting (Akamai), using a content management system for marketing content (Sitecore CMS + Elastic Search)

Architect for the company's main transactional web platform, used to provide self service capabilities to Maersk customers. The platform receives 20000+ orders per day, has 4000+ online users at peak times and is used to drive over 60% of the company's revenue (1M+ USD per hour) 

Key responsibilities: 

• • Design end to end solutions for delivering new functional capabilities on the platform, including backend components and management of data elements
• • Document solutions and integration patterns to other systems in the IT landscape 
• • Conduct workshops with main stakeholders to refine design and provide recommendations to business
• • Act as advisor for technical teams during the implementation of system enhancements
• • Maintain and improve the development and delivery pipeline for the platform - code quality standards, continuous integration and deployment, automated testing 
• • Propose and drive implementation of improvements to technology stack - technical upgrades, introduction of microservices, leveraging CDN capabilities, reducing dependency on legacy systems

Global Manifest System 

Implementation and enhancement of a Global Manifest System used for automated transmission of documents to customs authorities around the world. Used for customs clearance of all Maersk cargo transported into North America, Europe, China and Japan 

Key responsibilities: 

• • Requirements gathering through stakeholder meetings and workshops 
• • Documenting business and technical requirements, use cases and business processes 
• • Identifying system changes needed to deliver required functionality 
• • Communicating with the development team to ensure implementation meets requirements 
• • Reviewing test scenarios and assisting with user acceptance testing and system rollout

Maersk Line IT Simplification project

Key responsibilities

• • Maintaining Maersk Line IT software application database using UNICOM Focal Point
• • Identifying candidate applications for consolidation or decommissioning to simplify the Maersk application estate
• • Administering a Microsoft SharePoint site for the project
• • Producing and presenting management reports and dashboards
