Assignment Details

As a Python Developer within the data team, you will help to maintain and extend our codebase, written in Python that performs ETL and valuation of financial derivatives. You will also provide support to our team in using this software to test clients' financial instrument valuations by independent re-valuation, across a wide range of instrument types. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in the design and architecture of extensions to our software stack, along with the chance to work on new/greenfield projects.

Using a variety of technologies and providing production-grade solutions, you will be working within the Data Team and closely with quants and other application developers to ensure the timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of the data

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement protocols for data acquisition, integration and reconciliation.
  • Design databases for data storage and querying.
  • Develop applications for data cleaning processes and quality assurance.

 

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / INTERESTS

Essential

  • Excellent knowledge and working experience in Python.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices.
  • Work in Django or Flask
  • Docker experience is mandatory

 

The nice to have!

  • Previous experience in processing large datasets, possibly from multiple sources, in several formats (XML, csv, …).
  • Working experience with building web applications and APIs; Python Django framework is a plus
  • Knowledge and working experience in at least one other programming language, preferably, but not limited to R, C++, C# and .NET
  • Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL and MSSQL), and/or NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB), and Big Data technologies.
  • Previous experience with automated deployment, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience in revision control systems (Git preferred)

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MSC in Computer Science, Statistics or mathematics would be preferred
