Professional Packaging Engineer

Job Summary:

A Packaging Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in either the Morton, IL area. This position will establish packaging and processing specifications at the part number level for new product introductions, cost savings, or other supply chain improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Develop packaging solutions in a collaborative effort within the Packaging Engineering team and our process partners in Supply Chain, Transportation, Operations, and Design Engineering to ensure parts are delivered to their customers at company facilities, company dealers, or direct to our end customers.
• Create packaging concepts and container layouts using 3D modeling software (i.e. Pro-E). Perform cost analysis and develop business cases for implementing packaging improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain or other field. Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Packaging Engineer or Packaging Analyst.
• Experience in conducting cost analysis preparing business cases. Experience in supplier collaboration implementing packaging and logistics changes. Experience within operations at a manufacturing environment.
