DevOps/Platform Engineer

We are looking for a DevOps oriented platform engineer for our Finnish client. Together with the client team, the project involves working together for a public sector entity in the Middle East. The client has a certain budget for the role, please note the hourly rate range given in the details below the role description.

 

Key Responsibilities of the platform engineer:
- Cooperate with a team in the preparation and execution of the deployment process of applications, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient release cycles.
- Hands-on participation in CI/CD build for cloud-based applications and environments, leveraging tools and technologies to automate and improve development and release processes.
- Expertise in automating and improving development and release processes, with a focus on continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment.
- Skillful in tools required to automate, test, deploy, manage, and monitor applications, ensuring end-to-end ownership of CI/CD pipelines.
- Promptly react to system notifications and minimize downtime by debugging production issues across services and levels of the stack.

 

Requirements
- Proficient in tools required to automate, test, deploy, manage, and monitor applications, with a preference for open-source solutions.
- Deep knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, and/or other open-source CI/CD solutions.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, package management with Helm, and microservice architectures.
- Track record of automating processes ranging from provision to build, test, and deployment.
- Working experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI or Huawei Cloud.
- Excellent knowledge of infrastructure monitoring systems such as Prometheus, The Elastic Stack etc
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a DevOps and/or platform engineering role such as SRE.
- Good understanding of networking both for cloud and Kubernetes
