Senior Mainframe Tester

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Test Analyst with IBM Mainframe functional testing skills to work on a very large high profile project.

As a Senior Test Analyst you will be required to understand how information technology interfaces with the functional groups within an organization.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and documents clients' business requirements and processes.
• Maintain an effective testing process.
• Verify that all client requirements are incorporated into the design.
• Provide business process and re-engineering support to clients.
• Participate in and / or lead work groups and work sessions with business and technical consultants to explore business process improvement and re-engineering opportunities.
• Ensuring stability, availability and reliability of production platforms and applications through the planning and execution of testing.
• Write test scenarios and test scripts for testing projects/enhancements and assist in writing test plans for significant software upgrades.
• Liaise with business users, business analysts and developers to ensure that planned testing meets their requirements.
• Fault and issue reporting - raise any defects found during Testing and escalate in accordance with set procedures
• Execute Test Cases for all assigned projects/enhancements.
• Track progress of allocated Test Cases to ensure deadlines are met.

Requirements:

• Experience working in Investments/Pension/Superannuation Industry
• IBM Mainframe (preferably Life3, Life 400 or AS400) functional testing experience.
• Very strong Documentation skills.
• Ability to write and execute test strategy, test plans.
• Experience working with testing tools and methodologies.
• Very strong communication skills and experience running workshops with key business stakeholders.
