Linux Integration Engineer ( IoT / Networks)

For a client in the security industry, there is a need for Linux Integration Engineer ( IoT / Networks).

The project is about installing a security module into a router. Our client´s product creates a secure network for smart homes, combining hardware and software in a unique way. It is an advanced, high speed secure router consisting of a physical router and a software app.

Your daily work would be about:

• Research router platforms
• Configure Linux kernel and environment in the router to meet the requirements
• Troubleshoot and test solutions for integration issues
• Do occasional integration related programming tasks (C/C++, or shell script)
• Work in close co-operation with the feature development and QA team

We are looking for consultant with the following experience: 

• Consultants should have experience in IPv6 network technology, since client is about to strengthen the IPv6 competence in the team.
• Fluent spoken and written English (Finnish not required)
• In-depth understanding and experience in Linux (Debian/Embedded)
• TCP/IP protocol suite (IPv4, IPv6, HTTP(S), TLS, DNS, routing, firewalls) knowledge
• Networking configuration experience on Linux (Netfilter)
• Network programming knowledge in general
• Some programming experience on Linux (e.g. C/C++, shell scripting, Python)

What is considered as a plus:

• Knowledge of container technologies (Docker)
• Consumer-grade internet access technologies (DOCSIS, xDSL, GPON, PPPoE) knowledge
• OpenWRT / DD-WRT knowledge

This assignment starts in as soon as possible and the contract is valid until further notice. Work will be done mainly at customers' premises at Helsinki city center, from whenever the situation allows onsite working.
