Contractor B2B position - Automation Engineers (Remote), - within EU countries, English speaking 22.02.2023

We are looking for two technical experts / consultants for our client in the IT sector. The task is to act as a consultant and technical expert in the client automation and PLC solutions in customer environments with respect to carriers and large crane environments. The role includes a high demand to travel to customer sites all over the world (up to 80% of the time), which entails being away from home for weeks at a time. Some travel to client office in Finland is required as well. Customer pays for travel and accommodation.

Please note: As we are looking for two candidates, one might have a different skill set where one candidate may lean more towards the IT skills side and the other may lean more towards hands-on type of work. For individual contractors in our network, you may consider presenting your strongest skill areas accordingly as well.

Consultant tasks:

- Implement client automation solutions for customers
- Work closely with customers to define, prioritize, and document business and operational requirements for client automation solutions
- Define interface requirements to integrate client automation solutions with the customer's existing systems
- Access control solution options and define conceptual solution design, in conjunction with client operational and IT systems engineers
- Serve as customer advocate throughout solution design, development, and test phases to ensure the delivered solution meets customer objectives.

Requirements:
Ideally the candidate has experience in as many areas as possible from the following:

- MSc or BSc in Automation, Engineering, Information Technology or degree in Automation technology, Electronics, Information Systems, Computer Science or related disciplines
- PLC programming skills (Siemens, Omron and ABB)
- Database skills: SQL, Oracle, Cassanda, Kairos
- Experience in a business related to automation/software implementation and integration
- Experience with Linux and Windows Servers
- Networks: WLAN & LAN technology including components e.g. network switches and access points etc
- Willingness to develop strong technical and troubleshooting skills in several applications and
- Job requires some practical skills such as installing equipment on cranes and working at heights
- Knowledge of networking technologies and relational database structures or web-based enterprise solutions and technologies
- Excellent written and oral communications skills in English (other languages such as Spanish, France and Germany are seen as an asset)

 

Location: Remote + travel (the consultant can work from anywhere in EU, but is expected to be able to travel a considerable deal)
