Summary
Currently working as a data scientist, I have seven years work experience in the areas of text mining and language technologies in general. I have being responsible for all the steps involved in training and deploying predictive models, including annotation projects, training and evaluation.

At SIRIS Academic I contribute to the identification of research trends and impacts, as well as the assessment of the reproducibility of research works, with the goal of informing evidence-based policies and research strategies.
My responsibilities at SIRIS include contributing to the EU-funded SciLake project, which aims to leverage and extend science knowledge graph technologies to make scientific knowledge contextualized, interconnected, interoperable, and accessible.

My work at MedBioinformatics was focused on the development and deployment of predictive models
for the identification of biomedical entities and relations in scientific publications. I also contributed to two research projects in the context of the EU-funded Elixir initiative,
aimed at developing mechanisms and infrastructures to facilitate sharing data and resources among
life-science researchers.
MedBioinformatics Solutions SL is a spin-off that arises from the Integrated Biomedical Informatics group of the Research Program in Biomedical Informatics of the IMIM and the UPF (GRIB). Besides consulting services, the company is the provider of DISGENET plus, one of the largest catalogs worldwide of genes and variants associated with human diseases, traits and phenotypes.

Working for the Communications and Information Policy Programme, I was in charge of research management on internet policy topics, including spectrum
regulation, governance and internet rights. In particular, I coordinated the research components of the following projects: Open spectrum for development, Internet rights are human rights, Open government data, Strengthening civil society networking and advocacy on internet public policy.
In this context, I also coordinated the organization of a series of events, including APC's Networking and Learning Forum in The Philippines, two workshops on spectrum management at the 6th Internet Governance Forum held Nairobi, Kenya, in September 2011 and a research capacity building workshop in Johannesburg in February 2012.
