Aleksandar is used to work in financial institutions with challenging  business needs and complex data flows. The project aim was to Ensure availability of the data warehouse and to improve run-times and DWH structure in general. The initiative was brought to light by BCBS239 - Principles for effective risk data aggregation and risk reporting, 

 

As requirements for data quality and availability increase the performance improvement on the data warehouse follows. At the time, the daily runs barley managed to be completed before business (Accounting, Risk, Treasury etc.) needed to use data. In case of errors IT had a very narrow time frame to handle these, and in worst case affecting most of the business processes. 

By reducing unnecessary dependencies by dividing the daily load into “ETL-units” and streamlining data processing the project succeeded to obtain a more efficient DWH structure and reduced the daily run time. With this implementation we managed to future-proof and enable scaling of the data warehouse.

The Market risk project in MX(Murex) aimed at ensuring that the calculation of market risk (Basel III - CRR) was carried out in a single system and to address the shortcomings linked to different valuation models between capital/risk calculations and external reporting.

Aleksandar entered the project at a critical stage, SEK were implementing new valuation- and calculation models in MX, which created massive amount of new Market risk data. He had the responsibility to drive complex issues and to deliver a downstream solution that was facilitating analysis, measurement and reporting of the market risk more efficiently. By implementing a micro service to perform risk data aggregations (KPI:s etc) we managed to get a better structure and control of the process compared to the previous solution.

Aleksandar played a leading role in the project where he was responsible for requirements and testing, he also had a close cooperation with Risk management.

As a product owner of the Financial unit (Finance, Financial Control, Asset Management and Actaurial Unit), Aleksandar was responsible for the strategic business development. He supported the financial unit by establishing requirements, investigating, preparing and assessing the benefits of development. 

The work tasks included managing, controlling and quality assurance of business requirements towards relevant stakeholders.

Further, he was involved in complex investigations, often linked to new regulations (IDD, SII, GDPR, etc.) and associated projects. In addition, Aleksandar had the role as owner for process and system development related to the financial unit, with the aim to streamlining operations.

He managed to balance the organizational needs with given resources, development on time, from a client and business perspective, with the aim to always reach set targets and criteria for utility, quality and cost. 

Aleksandar was responsible for the implementation of a new strategy for business development/change management with the goal to meet the digital agile era. He set up the TFS structure and left a well-maintained Back-log.

Aleksandar developed data flow models and managed to develop new processes to improve the reporting process. He also worked with information modeling where he has translated / concretized insurance terms, business expressions, reporting concepts and IT information between different systems.

In addition, Aleksandar designed new data delivery processes between different entities (Sampo and If insurance) where final destination was the risk data system.

Responsible for implemented functionality in the risk data warehouse on the asset side. He was responsible for changes, impact assessment of changes and captured requirements that were not within his area of ​​responsibility and communicated / concretized them to IT (in consultation with management).

Aleksandar also pushed for the implementation of new solutions in the risk data warehouse, where he was responsible for the entire chain of business requirements, testing and verification, in close cooperation with developers and test teams.

He worked with automation of the reporting process where the asset area was successfully used as POC  (prove of concept). The purpose was to reduce the number of manual processes, free resources and streamline the reporting process.

Aleksandar´s role was to bridge the gap between operations and IT and ensure that data flows- and schedules worked in combination with new changes / business requirements.

Ultimately responsible for reporting and developing Asset Reports - SII QRT (and ensuring that these are up to date with the latest EIOPA requirements), the asset side consist of 142 BSEK.

Responsible for Requirements specification, Testing of Investment portfolios and Financial Solvency II Reports, including mapping of data from the general ledger (E1) and consolidation system.

Aleksandar has worked with everything from integration test, system test, acceptance test, regression testing, performance testing, etc. He is also versed in "exploratory testing" where testing is formed during the test process; black box testing from end user perspective; white box testing from IT perspective; non-functional testing of e.g. usability, efficiency and maintainability.

Aleksandar is used to work hands-on and his daily tasks was to create test data packages, gather production data for business tests, anonymize data for IT tests, create dummy data for specific test cases. Translate use cases to test cases, happy path, alternative path and expected results. Create and execute semi- / automatic tests (selenium hq) and validations.
