I started my career as a developer (software and SQL), evolving to Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse developer, Data
Engineering etc. In 2012 I set up my own BI company in the UK with two business partners and teams varying from 1 to 5
developers. I was mainly in charge of running workshops with clients, designing solutions, pricing these and overseeing the
projects. I never lost touch with the development aspects of the solutions though, sometimes leading the team myself and in
some cases coding the solutions myself.
Nowadays I am not leading the company anymore, working only remotely as a freelancer.

I have been delivering IBM Cognos reporting courses at beginner & advanced level to a number of clients, these courses were tailored to the needs of the client, which often meant I would provide ongoing remote support where I would develop complex reports using Cognos 10.2.
● WaterAid, Sector: NGO-Charity, Technology: MS SQL Server 2012, SQL SSIS (2015-2016) I developed a new Data Warehouse (DWH) following a CRM migration. I worked with the client closely as they wanted to enhance their own technical knowledge as part of the project. The project was a success and I was contracted to improve other areas of their "Integration Hub", an ETL tool that works as an interface between WaterAid and marketing agencies.

This was a greenfield project. Together we decided on the technologies to be used and I developed the DWH. After finishing the project, the company contracted a permanent DWH developer and a PowerBI developer to maintain and expand their systems.
All their systems are in the Cloud.

In 2018 I participated in the evaluation and design of few solutions. For one of the projects, we assessed WebFOCUS, SSRS and PowerBI, finally creating a solution in Power BI. For another project we assessed a solution coded in Java and R, finally using mainly R.
In 2019 I collaborated with them on a short project for the Home Office where we evaluated cryptographic solutions.

Technology: MS SQL Server 2016, SQL SSIS, (2018) In this project a led a team of 3 people to develop a solution to meet the new GDPR legislation in their Data Warehouses and Reports. One part of the solution was to deliver reports in SSRS and to generate CSV files. A second part of it focused on the obfuscation of personal data in the data warehouse using a combination of SSIS, Stored Procedures and MS Master Data Services (Master Data Management).
