Project Manager

We are looking for a Project Manager for a news mobile application platform. The client will renew the mobile apps for their main companions and five smaller local news brands. These apps are well known for most Finns. They will build a new common news app platform that will deliver the Android- and iOS apps for all their news brands. The client will also build new and extend existing backend systems to serve the new apps. 

The development phase is about to start, and it will continue until summer 2023. We are looking for an experienced & energetic project manager who can help the client to deliver this project within the agreed budget and schedule and has good people and communication skills, preferably experience from similar projects. The project manager will work closely together with the product owner of apps and the core team. 

Responsibilities of the project manager include among regular project management tasks, supported by management:
- Being a driving force and key person in the News & Feature digital development
- Responsible for progress and visibility of all project areas by exceptional skill to see the big picture and attention to the detail
- Keeping the project structured and organized and goal clear by prior expertise and best practices
- Ensuring that developers know what to do by understanding business objectives, being able to structure development tasks, and ability to talk with people with many different backgrounds and competencies
- Keeping an eye on the schedule and milestones by leading within the team, not from the ivory tower
- Preferably, expertise on difficulties on how to balance with continuous development to existing mobile apps that keep evolving during the project because of business growth demands, new regulation and changed requirements from Apple, Google, etc
- Communication with stakeholders fluently and promptly, understanding and using different viewpoints and channels in communication needs
- Structuring way of working & organizing meetings or other means to reach the goal and prevent key experts sitting in meetings with no clear goal
- Documenting discussions and decisions to ensure visibility and efficiency
- Identifying project risks and driving for mitigations to help us reach the business and technology objectives
 

Location: Helsinki (Remote)

Workload: 75-100% (3 days a week)
