Assignment Details

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is an engineer responsible for design, delivery, quality, and continual improvement of messaging/desktop infrastructure solutions for M&A from initial onboarding through complete integration.  The role reports to the Senior Infrastructure Engineer and functions as a member of the Technology Integration Delivery team within M&A Integration.  This role is responsible for timeliness and quality of infrastructure integration activities.  The successful candidate will have broad, general IT knowledge to be able to rapidly assess new acquisition IT environments and contribute to the integration planning along with a dedicated team of business and technical experts.



Key Responsibilities

 

Infrastructure Conversion

  • Analyze source and to-be IT environments and develop technical plan in accordance with standard practices around virtual applications, Citrix desktops and AD/Group Policy
  • Assess/document new acquisition IT environment to determine general workstation/server/network design in support of planning for multiple, simultaneous integration projects.
  • Deploy/Manage data transfer solution (Cloudberry/BitTitan) in advance of IT integration
  • Support on-site integration team with expert general IT and migration knowledge to inform them of user experience, migration challenges and pitfalls
  • Perform email migrations, archive re-hydrations, update mail records (e.g. TXT, MX, SPF), configure EOP, Mimecast for migrated domains, troubleshoot mail flow post-migration
  • Deploy standardized virtual servers for new acquisitions as needed from AWS, Azure, and Data Center VMWare platform
  • Documenting all migration steps performed via the M&A Tracking sheet – licensing, etc
  • Implement solutions aligned with Enterprise standards by leveraging AWS, CloudBerry, Citrix, Office 365/Skype, Windows10, OneDrive, SharePoint, Avaya, InContact, UniPrint, Exchange On-Premise, FIM/MIM, and Active Directory solutions
  • Assist with post-infrastructure conversion support efforts, addressing and eliminating issues and facilitating Service Introduction to the IT Service Management Team

 

Quality and Documentation

  • Ensure delivery, quality, and continual improvement of the infrastructure integration process
  • Maintain integration standards across network circuits, telephony, desktop computing, printers, collaboration tools, email, Citrix, and cloud
  • Ensure integration solutions are properly documented and maintained in a content management repository
  • Catalog, classify, and inventory application dependencies according to repeatable methodologies

 

Qualifications

  • Well-grounded in technology and has a solid understanding of infrastructure conversions, specific experience includes:
  • 3 years of experience in technology delivery execution roles with emphasis on infrastructure integration projects
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment designing and delivering solutions for complex people, technology, and process integration programs
  • Working knowledge with the following technology domains:  network/telecom, email/messaging, Windows desktop, Citrix desktop, Exchange On-Premise, O365, and cloud (AWS preferred)
  • Experience with Windows Server Operating Systems – 2003 – 2019, Active Directory, Standard protocols including DNS, SMTP, NTP, NetBIOS, SMB/CIFS, RPC, HTTP, and SSL
  • Deep PowerShell experience; experience with other scripting/coding languages (e.g. PERL, C#, .NET) a plus
  • MS SQL Server database experience is a plus
  • Familiarity of common change control processes
  • Skype/Lync User Administration
  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, ADFS, and Office 365 technologies
  • Detail oriented with strong organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Authorized to work in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico
  • Ability to work off hours
